Common Celebrations in Port Washington, Manhasset and Roslyn Area
- Baptisms: Religious rite welcoming a (usually) baby into a Christian community. They are held any time of the year, usually on weekends in the daytime. Common gifts in the Catholic tradition includes money, checks, savings deposits and jewelry (wi

- Communions: A Christian rite in some segments of Christians that is celebrated between May through July. Money/checks is the typical gift given.

- Bar or Bat Mitzvahs: are held year any time of the year
- Sweet 16: Celebration the 16th birthday of a young girl it can be held any time of the year. Money and checks are usually given as gifts.
- Quiceañeras: A coming of age celebration for girls turning 15, traditional in many Hispanic countries. It can be held any time of the year. Common gifts for a Quiceanera in the United States are money or jewelry.
- Ritu Kala Samskara (Ritushuddhi): is a traditional Indian coming of age ceremony for girls. Common gifts include clothes, gold jewelry and money.

Sometimes you just need a space that is not your home to throw a party and that’s where these great spaces come into play. Here are a few of our favorites in the Port Washington, Manhasset and Roslyn area.
- Blumenfeld Family Park: We have seen plenty of daytime celebrations take place at Blumenfeld, commonly refffered to as Landmark Playground. Perfect for kids 5 and under. Usually families setup at a picnic table and pickup pizza.
- Manorhaven Beach Park: In the park area at the Orchard Beach Road and Manorhaven Boulevard you will find a beautiful space with a pavilion, picnic tables and barbecue grills. First come, first serve.
- Port Washington Athletic League on Main Street: The newly renovated little house you see at 325 Main Street is available for your next party. Check out their listing to learn more.
- Polish American Hall: This beautiful hall is available for private parties and has a full bar available.
- Town of North Hempstead Beach Park: Also, known as Bar Beach, off season entry is free and there are picnic table towards the front of the park as well as grassy rolling hills, BBQ pits and bathrooms.

Here are a few of our food catering picks and tried and tested food to order spots in the Port Washington, Manhasset and Roslyn area.
- 🎉 Crazy Cakes: Peanut-free caked and cupcakes made to order fresh in their on-site premises. Protip: because everything is made fresh, order in advance. Fondant not available, but there are still so many cute possibilities! For instance, they made us Chewbacca Star Wars cupcakes last year for my daughter, Simba’s, party. It was a big hit! - 🎉 Gino’s of Port Washington: A great place for eat-in, take-out or catering orders. Gino’s is our go-to for our kid’s parties, with our most common selections including pizzas (with and without toppings) and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers are fresh, thin and delicious! Protip: pay less with cash.
- Smusht: Smusht is available to attend your birthday or other kind of celebration - corporate or leisure - and will customize their offering for you. If you have been to any Port Washington event in the past few years then you probably saw the Smusht cart, featuring classic and new flavors in sandwich form.
